Dominica's culture condones dumping unwanted pets, especially the babies, in the jungles and on the road. There is no spay and neuter facility on available on a permanent basis and only one animal shelter operting beyond capacity. Funds for most residents are very tight. Dogs are not considered to be companions but guards. Pet food is extremely expensive.
The combination of all these factors adds up to a lot of chained up, starving and abandoned animals.
We hope you will see the need and assist us in this endeavor.
We are dedicated to this project and look forward to all phases of the journey. We currently have 25 animals in our care and will soon begin to build kennels and facilities for the many more that we want to accommodate.
